Your photos are special moments captured in time.
Your photos will become family heirlooms.
Your photos are artwork.
Your photos are your babies .
I understand how vulnerable it can be to hand your photos over to someone else to edit. Which is why I strongly believe it is important for each photographer to find an editor they like, know and trust. You wouldn't leave your puppy with someone you don't trust, so why would it be any different with your photos?
I've always had a entrepreneurial spirit. As a little kid my lemonade stands upgraded to snow cone stands. I would play pretend store and draw pictures for my customers to buy. ( I don't mean to brag, but my $.25 flower picture I forced my grandma to buy is framed and hanging in her bedroom 20 years later.)
The first time I really got my hands on a DSLR camera, I took my niece out to the park and had a photoshoot. With it being the early 2010's, I plastered those photos all over my Facebook page. Did I know what I was doing? No. But one inquiry later and I had started my own photo business and began shooting for all my friends and family.
Even though I loved photography, it wasn't really my life plan. I went to college with the goal of becoming a teacher, and writing essays took over my life. While taking a semester off college, I pulled the camera out again, and there was no looking back. The photography field was where I was supposed to be. So I started putting all my efforts into investing in education, learning all I could, and upgrading my equipment.
As part of my photo courses, I was in photography Facebook groups. I kept seeing posts from photographers asking about private photo editors. I was really confused. Why would people want to outsource their editing? That was always my favorite part. I'd much rather edit all day than actually go out and shoot.
But the idea of being a photo editor intrigued me. So once I finally graduated from college, I put up my camera, I launched my private photo editing services, and it grew faster than I could ever imagine it could.
